At Val’s Pals, Vala Skelton is an expert in her field. With over 14 years of experience, she has seen a lot. This is her life’s work and she is dedicated to her regular clients and to her commitment to living a life around the beings she loves and respects. Many clients have been with Vala for years. Some come and go as their needs change. Some move away and make more room for more new clients and their pets.
About Administrative + Marketing Manager Susan Brooks
Susan Brooks is our Marketing & Administrative Manager. She keeps the wheels turning on the business side. Susan keeps customer files and correspondence, organizes, and helps behind the scenes. She also does some market research for us. Susan has a background in sales and marketing and dog daycare and we so appreciate her supporting role.
Our Story
Owner Vala Skelton was born and raised in Texas. She worked as a bank teller in high school and college. After attending the Houston Art Institute and earning her associate's degree she worked for 16 years in staffing and recruiting. She began working with pets when she wanted a life more connected to her love of animals, and learned while working for another company that she wanted her own business to serve clients and pets in a customized way. She started her own business in Houston as an LLC registered with the State of Texas, was trained in animal CPR and First Aid, is insured and bonded, and is qualified to administer medication. Ask any client and you’ll hear she is well-suited to this profession. She loves what she does and it shows.
